Save Face is a book of computer-generated portraits that detach the face from biography, presenting images of people who have never existed. In dialogue with concepts embedded in the works from Thomas Ruff to Diane Arbus, the project utilizes the logic of traditional photographic typologies and questions the act of encounter, a pillar of the portrait art form.When viewers engage with the images, they are faced with their own projections, biases, and assumptions about beauty and identity in an era where realism guarantees only a portion of reality.
