Massenet : Catalogue général des Oeuvres / General Catalogue of Works

Ce catalogue bilingue français anglaise a vocation à proposer un inventaire exhaustif des ouvrages connus de Massenet, à en faciliter les recherches, l'exécution et la connaissance générale. Il précise, pour chaque pièce les nomenclatures vocales et/ou instrumentals, le ou les auteurs des textes associés, la localization des manuscrits et tout autre détail pertinent. Les auteurs ont établi un classement par genre musical, en douze catégories, dont les ouvrages lyriques et les mélodies - près de 300 - constituent une part importante. La numérotation DO (Dibbern-Oléon) permet en outre désormais une quantification précise et un repérage facilité des nombreux titres référencés. Le Catalogue est enrichi d'une notice chronologique, de nombreuses annexes et d'une bibliographie sélective. This French-English bilingual catalog is designed to furnish a complete inventory of all known works by Massenet, with the goal of aiding research, performance and general knowledge. It furnishes essential details for each piece including vocal and/or instrumental requirements, author(s) of the associated texts, the manuscripts' location and many other important details. The authors have organized the works using twelve categories of musical genre, of which the vocal works, some three hundred including operas or songs, make up a large part. The DO numbers (Dibbern-Oléon) allow a precise inventory and add to the ease of referencing these works. The Catalog is also enriched by a chronology, numerous annexes and a select bibliography.
