Aliénor facilite l'accession de Jean-sans-Terre au trône d'Angleterre, au détriment de son petit-fils, contre lequel elle bataille au siège de Mirebeau : elle a soixante-quinze ans ! Aliénor d'Aquitaine meurt en 1204, après avoir appris la chute de Château-Gail-lard ouvrant la Normandie au roi de France. Elle est ensevelie à l'abbaye de Fontevraud.
