The Graded Chinese Reader series is a collection of abridged reading materials designed for Chinese learners, aiming to help them improve their reading ability. Since the publication of the first volume of the English annotated edition in 2007, this series has been well-received by readers. It can be used as a Chinese reading textbook or as extensive reading materials by Chinese learners. To meet the needs of readers, a total of six volumes have been published. To assist French-speaking learners of Chinese, three French-annotated volumes will be published with vocabulary levels of 1000, 2000, and 3000 words respectively. The vocabulary level of Volume Two is confined to 2000 words. The articles are selected from contemporary Chinese short stories, including«????»«????»«????????»«???????»«????» and«????». These stories depict the lives of the Chinese people and various social changes from the 1980s to the present. This volume is restricted to a vocabulary of 2000 commonly used Chinese words.
