This book presents the personal vision of a Vietnamese photographer from the 1930's to the 1960's. It relates the rescue of a forgotten collection of photographs which was threatened by the waters of the Perfumed River, that regularly floods the mythical city of Huê. These images of bygone days evoke the lost serenity of a country that has been constantly shattered by its own history.
