Sa bouffonnerie rappelle à la fois son compatriote honfleurais Alphonse Allais, mais aussi Alfred Jarry ou Léon-Paul Fargue. Cette édition hors du commun propose de relire et d'écouter le génie d'Erik Satie en offrant l'enregistrement de la composition avec le livre. Des bois gravés par l'ami Georges Braque ont également été reproduits dans l'ouvrage.
