J. R. R. Tolkien and the Battle of the Somme

Cet ouvrage est la traduction d'une bande dessinée originale en français. J. R. R. Tolkien never shared what he had been through in the trenches of the Somme, as far as his writings are concerned. No doubt that experience left its mark on him as it did on all the soldiers involved in the battle. We propose to make up for that silence and tell the story of this watershed moment in the writer’s life, thus suggesting the impact those harrowing times exerted on his imagination and his future work.
