Early warnings of instability in Rwanda
Rwanda has come a long way from the genocide which occurred on 6 April 1994 where more than 800,000 people perished. This conflict in Rwanda is sombre that many Rwandans do not want to remember. Upon the black days of Rwanda, President Paul Kagame has been able to an extent restore peace and reconciliation, making Rwanda one of the fastest growing economies in Africa. The peace and stability it enjoys today is shaky in that Kagame whose elective mandate would have expired in 2017 has modified the constitution. Votes were conducted and the new constitution was adopted allowing Kagame to vy for the 2017 presidential election and more elections. Many are disgruntled for his stance, especially the US and other countries which might distabize Rwanda to oust Kagame as President.
