Autoroute de Ventura

Parfois, au temps de l'enfance, j'accompagnais mon père, boulanger, lors de ses tournées dans la campagne profonde du Nord-Mayenne. Le bosc était encore dans sa plénitude, des petites prairies bordées de talus millénaires, talus tapissés de plantes sauvages (des plantes médicinales) ; plantés de chênes, de châtaigniers, de houx, de noisetiers, de hêtres, de merisiers, de viorne obier... Je me souviens qu'il conduisait sa 2CV fourgonnette à petite vitesse le long d'un de ses talus, et c'est le passage de la voiture, avec les traces des roues qui créait le chemin, conduisant à une fermette en pierres de granit en bordure d'un ruisseau. Une ouverture en pleine nature à la découverte d'un nouveau monde : l'autoroute de Ventura !Sometimes, when I was a child, I used to accompany my father, a baker, on his rounds of the deep countryside of northen Mayenne. The bosc was still in its fullness, small meadows bordered by thousand-year-old enbankments, embankments carpeted with wild plants (medicinal plants) ; planted with oak, chesnut, holly, hazel, beech, wild cherry, wild viburnum... I remenber that he uses to drive his 2CV van at low speed along one of these embankments, and it was the passage of the car, with the traces of the wheels that created the path, leading to a granite stone farmhouse on the edge of a stream. A gateway to a new world : the Ventura motorway !
