C'est pour cela que toute l'Écriture est écrite, c'est pour cela que Dieu a créé le monde et toute la nature angélique : afin que Dieu naisse dans l'âme et que l'âme naisse en Dieu. » Certains, par une lecture incomplète ou trop orientée, ont reproché à Maître Eckhart de ne pas développer la christologie et d'oublier la Trinité mais, à lire ses textes, force est de constater que le Christ est omniprésent dans ses écrits, même s'il ne le mentionne pas toujours explicitement. Pour Maître Eckhart, en effet, c'est la configuration au Christ qui nous amène au coeur même de la Trinité. Et c'est la Pâque du Seigneur qui permet cette double naissance de Dieu dans l'âme et de l'âme en Dieu. L'enseignement sur la Pâque d'Eckhart s'articule autour de ces trois questions : pour qui cette Pâque est-elle préparée ? - pour tous les chrétiens ! - où l'est-elle ? - dans l'Église et en chacun ! - quels en sont les fruits ? - la résurrection avec le Christ, la divinisation ! Ces trois questions ne sont pas sans annoncer les trois autres questions qui scanderont, plus tard, le cycle d'enseignement d'Eckhart sur la naissance de Dieu dans l'âme : comment se produit cette naissance ? où ? quels en sont les fruits ? La Résurrection et la naissance de Dieu dans l'âme ne sont, en réalité, que les deux volets d'une même réalité : la filiation divine. Some people, whose reading is incomplete or too biased, have criticized Master Eckhart for not developing Christology and forgetting the Trinity but, when we read these texts, we cannot fail to observe that Christ is omnipresent, even if he is not explicitly mentioned. For Master Eckhart, it is the configuration of Christ which takes us to the very heart of the Trinity. And it is the Passover of the Lord which permits this double birth of God in the soul and the soul in God. Eckhart's teaching of the Passover is structured around three questions: For whom was this Passover prepared? - For all Christians! Where does it take place? - In the Church and in each one of us! What are its fruits? - The Resurrection with Christ, divinization! These three questions inevitably inspire three more questions, which later scan the cycle of Eckhart's teaching on the birth of God in the soul: How does this birth take place? Where? What are its fruits? The Resurrection and the birth of God in the soul are only two facets of a third reality: divine filiation. In this little book, Marie-Anne Vannier opens up a path of light wherein the central mysteries of the Incarnation and the Resurrection permit man to ‘become, through grace, what man is by nature'.
